SKYMAGIC created two unique shows for Soundstorm 2024, flying across three nights of the music festival above the Big Beast Stage.

Our original show concepts took inspiration from 8-bit aesthetics – the visual direction of the festival this year – and immersed festivalgoers in pixel heaven. In addition to designing the drone display, SKYMAGIC also led the design of screen content, pyro and laser choreography, and soundtrack curation.

The first show, “Storm Games”, transported the audience into a world of nostalgic 8-bit aesthetics, entering an arcade where retro games collided with a ‘beastified’ twist, delivering a playful and unforgettable blend of music, visuals, and technology.

The second show, “Rhythm of the Cosmos”, followed a space explorer venturing into the universe and crossing paths with a droid on a distant planet. The characters connected through music, the universal language that brings everyone together. The explorer discovered that rhythm has the potential to connect every heart in the universe, with a cosmic symphony emerging at the end, proving that music is the true unifying language of all life.

The show integrated seamlessly with the stage’s record-breaking temporary outdoor screen, pyrotechnics, and lasers and featured SKYMAGICs’ pyro drones to create spectacular hero-moments that captivated the festival audiences.
