SKYMAGIC were commissioned by UNBOXED 2022 to deliver a unique drone light show to celebrate the awakening of SEE MONSTER in Weston-super Mare.

Soaring above audiences of 70,000 people over three nights, we told the incredible story of the monster’s voyage across the North Sea towards its new home.

The one-of-a-kind show encompassed the key themes of SEE MONSTER; reuse, renewable energy, and the great British weather, augmented with a beautiful musical score, designed by OnTheSly Productions. The unique audio piece featured the local voices of Weston, working with Sound Artist, Joseph Harris.

Lighting design, by James Bawn and Oliver Suckling, on the SEE MONSTER structure allowed the physical platform to play an integral part within the show. Working in harmony with the drones, the balance between striking colours on the monster and light displays provided visual spectacles that joined land and sky.
