Our diverse team has over 15 years’ experience within the global entertainment industry and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) swarm technology.

Our customised fleet of dynamic, autonomously flown outdoor and indoor drones are each mounted with a super bright RGB pixel and deployed via a single ground control station across our proprietary, state-of-the-art flight software.

Launched high into the night sky or within an enclosed venue, our swarm formation performance drones execute a range of stunning 3D displays and mesmerising choreographic sequences to dazzling effect.

Here’s an insight into our technology…

AUTOMATED SWARM CONTROL SYSTEM

SKYMAGIC has an in-house system that has been developed to control mass drone flight formations for both indoor and outdoor. This essentially allows for the simultaneous control of thousands of performance drones from a single ground control system (GCS). The system utilises a suite of programming environments used to generate smooth and collision-free trajectories, simulate flight data, safety limit analysis and creative lighting programming.

BESPOKE DRONE SHOW PLANNING

The key part of the drone show programming suite is the planning and creation of the trajectory files and LED lighting file with close interactions with our client. Through our unique 3D show design process, from formation pattern design to trajectory dynamic transition design, to LED lighting design, customers can participate in each of the process.

A major benefit of our working process is that the files generated at this stage are the exact files that will be uploaded to the vehicles for the show meaning that there is no interpretation required. Our What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) interface is bespoke to us and unmatched within the industry.

RISK ASSESSMENT – FULL SAFETY PROCEDURE

SKYMAGIC carry a standard risk assessment common to all shows that can be immediately shared with clients and production teams to set out safety parameters at an early stage. We also have an operations manual that can be shared that outlines all working processes and system information to ensure that all involved parties can be made aware of the process and plan accordingly for safety and logistics.

IN HOUSE CUSTOMISED DRONES

For both indoor and outdoor live event applications – we have created our own software and hardware which includes our in-house cutting-edge autopilot system and drone show technology.

The LED light source is also a custom design to provide a perfect balance of super bright output visible from over 2km and power consumption to maximise flight duration.

AVIATION PERMISSIONS – LONG-TERM RELATIONSHIPS

Thanks to our comprehensive working practices we have garnered strong relationships with a number of civil aviation authorities around the world. This includes not only authorities with experience and dedicated drone departments but working in territories where previously there is no infrastructure or rulebook for drone activity.

Our experienced team can liaise directly with aviation authorities, air traffic control and regional departments during the course of any activation to ensure safe and timely permissions and notices for our event activities.
