SKYMAGIC were approached by BWS-KSA to collaborate on the grand opening of Riyadh Season 2021, the Middle East’s largest ever entertainment event. Working closely alongside the BWS-KSA creative team we designed a dynamic and playful drone display for a highlight within the ceremony, acting out a battle between Earth and Outer Space...
The drones, emulating gargantuan extra terrestrial spaceships, interacted with performers on stage to amplify the scene far up into the sky; the sequence portrayed a dramatic battle between the humans on the ground and aliens from space….Our celestial drone ships soured high above the stage in energetic flight. The combat scene was a captivating display of lasers and lights that flashed between earth and sky, calling and responding, with sound effects that augmented the moment. With a huge cast of international performers and multiple departments, the event itself was enjoyed by a record number of more than 750,000 guests, while millions more across the region watched the televised show live.
